Let me introduce to you the most delicous pizza.  Ever.  Plus- it took no time to make.  I decided while meal planning  last week that I was in the mood for pizza.  Not just any run-of-the-mill cheese or pepperoni pizza.. one of those specialty pizzas.  With lots of yummy stuff sprinkled throughout.

After perusing through ideas on my pinerest boards and cookbooks it came to me. Me and the Fireman’s all time favorite pizza: Hawaiian BBQ. Whooa yum.

After making this pizza pie over the weekend I wished I had made a hundred.  Literally.  I ate the leftovers for dinner last night and, again, wished I had more.  It was so easy and so delicious.  Plus, anything with bacon is GOOD. 

The cilantro gives the pizza such a fresh taste, so I wouldn’t skip it.  Unless you must.. but, I wouldn’t.

I took the easy route and bought the prepackaged fully cooked rotisserie chicken breast which worked perfectly and was really convenient.  It is already cooked, so the heating up process was taken care of while it was in the oven. 

Even though I chose to use monterey jack cheese, mozzarella cheese would be really good, too! 

{Easy} Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Pizza

Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 (13.8 oz) tube refrigerated whole grain pizza crust dough (I used Pillsbury Artisan Pizza Crust)
  • 1/2 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce (I used Sweet Baby Rays)
  • 1 (15oz) can diced pineapples in juice, drained
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 pound fully cooked chicken breast, roughly chopped
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
  • Chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

Roll out the pizza crust dough onto a medium sized rimmed baking sheet, flattening it to fit to the corners.

Place the pizza crust into the oven for 8-10 minutes, until slightly puffed and beginning to turn golden brown. Remove from oven.

Spread BBQ sauce evenly over crust, smoothing with the back of a large spoon. Sprinkly your chicken breast evenly over top. Next add the pineapple, as much or as little as you like. We like pineapple so we added quite a bit.

Next sprinkle the bacon and then layer on your purple onion. Top evenly with shredded cheese.

place back into the heated oven for another 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden brown (and delicious!)

So easy.  So quick.  And totally perfect for a weeknight..

But, I’m tempted to make this for entertaining.  Everyone will love it!

  3. looks good but it will take too much time and effort I wish this kind of taste would be available from Pizza place. I will try this weekend with one of my best friend who likes to cook and try different dishes daily.
