I asked my Facebook community to help me reach 300+ fans, and without hesitation, my fan count jumped to the desired 300!  I’m excited to tell you that, in honor of you, CSN stores and CBroc is giving one lucky follower a $30 gift certificate, which may be used at any of CSN’s 200 online stores! Of the many CSN Stores, the Cookware store has everything you can think of to prepare you for easy night of cooking.  Which do you prefer; the Dutch Oven, or Crock*Pot?  What about a spatula, turner..or rubber scraper?  Kinda like potato, potAto-right?  Either way- this giveaway will set you off to the right start for stocking your kitchen well for success!
Once a week I make my grocery list.  Planning my meals for the week ahead..yes, thats right- I can tell you what I’m making for Monday..or Wednesday..even Saturday night if me and my fireman choose to stay in.  Sounds super OCD, I know..but I go to the grocery once/week- buying all that I need for that week.  A great way to budget as well as a GREAT way for preventing that 5pm stop at the drive thru because I am too tired and have not a clue what to make for dinner.  There is the occasion that I get totally lost and in a rut and can’t think of anything or develop a recipe I want to make for the week ahead, let alone tomorrow night’s dinner.  This is when I turn to my faithful cookbooks and websites and, oh yes, my iPhone :)  There are TONS of recipe apps that are super and full of fabulous recipes.  I have decided to share three of my top favorites :)  (Note- These aren’t the only ones I use, but some that I frequent most often!)

With Epicurious app, you are set with thousands of recipes and even a shopping list, to make sure you don’t forget a thing.  I have even used this app when I was standing in the produce aisle..found a recipe and put it in my Shopping List..all with a few ‘clicks’. These are professionally tested recipes from top food magazines, popular cookbooks, top chefs, restaurants and more in the grocery store or the kitchen, right from your iPhone.

EatingWell‘s “Healthy in a Hurry” Recipe App makes finding quick and healthy recipes so quick and easy.  You are sure to find ideas and a satisfiying dinner faster than ever. This app puts 200 recipes at your fingertips, from breakfasts to quick dinners to delectable desserts, for easy access while shopping, at work, wherever you are!

Allrecipes has launched a new iPhone app called Dinner Spinner Pro. The app, which costs $2.99 in the App Store, allows users to access the complete recipe library, add recipes directly to their personal Recipes Boxes (if you are a community member), and, like the epi app, create shopping lists. There is also a free app available, with plenty of recipes to start out with!  Try the ‘free’ version first and then decide if you want to pay the $2.99 for the Pro version.  It was definitly worth it to me!

  1. Great giveaway!

In a rush, my favorite place to find a quick and easy recipe is on SparkPeople @ SparkRecipes. They have tons of healthy, simple recipes. I wish I had a fancy iPhone… those apps seem awesome.

My go-to too-busy-to-cook meal is pasta with homemade sauce. I always keep sauce in the freezer so it's super easy!

I'm a fan on Facebook (Hazel R.) and tweeted :)

  2. Edible Nutrition says:

    1) Been a fan on FB for awhile!

    2) Favorite on the go, rushing around meal–FRITTATAS! They whip up in 10 minutes and can be packed with everything but the kitchen sink! Plus, dress the plate up with some salad greens and it looks elegant–ha! They can go vegetarian with thin sliced zucchini or potatoes or toss in some meat and cheese. Basically I pull out what I have and start tossing in goodness.

    3) You'll see the tweets at both FuelinRoadie & EdibleNutrition!

  3. Crystal Curtis says:

    1. Been a fan :)

    2. I love the "dinner spinner" on AllRecipes app for the iPhone. But just as easily I can access Chocolate Broccoli from my iPhone as well and love getting recipes I've never had before from here!

    3. Don't have twitter :(

  4. I do the same thing with meal planning. We go shopping Saturday mornings, so Friday night I plan out each meal and snack for the week and base my shopping list off of that.

  5. My go-to recipe finder is the "Big Oven" app on the iPhone. Its nice and easy to use and I like it because it gives you several variations of the recipes you search for.

When I'm out of ideas for dinner, I usually end up making my famous Crispy Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches. I use the Shake n Bake Oven fry for chicken breasts, put it on a whole wheat but, put some veggies and cheese on it and top it off with a mixture of Buffalo Sauce and Ranch. They are quick, easy and my husband loves them!

I really look forward to reading your blogs each week. This contest is a great idea! Thanks Amber!

  6. 1. I am a FB fan as sarah linette!

    2. My go to recipe finder is All because I can use the ingredient finder based on what I have on hand if I am feeling stumped.

    3. Tweet!

  7. Edible Nutrition says:

Oops, you asked go to recipe finder…not go to recipe. (smile–speed reading catches up to me). My faves:,,, and on boxes! I love the recipe ideas from companies on how to utilize their product.

  8. I'm a fan of chocolate brocolli! :o) Fun giveaway, Amber! Thanks!

  9. Even though it isn't healthy, I would have to say that an easy go to meal is chicken fried rice. (I've watched those chefs at Japanese Hibachi grills so many times, I can make it myself!)
